Linux - No funciona Guide en Matlab 7 sobre linux

Tengo Matlab 7 sobre Kubuntu (Ubuntu 8.04 kernel 2.6.24 - 16 - generic
Si intento abrir un *.fig me dice que no hay ningun archivo y si intento crear un guide nuevo, da el siguiente error:
