No hay porqué asustarse como hacer algo, en internet existen muchos ejemplos, además de los que proporciona esta web, también en www.planet-source-code.com se puede buscar "ADO Connection"
Si ya conocen la forma de conectar a un ADO lo pueden hacer fácilmente aquí, ahora, si por si fueran curiosos y ya contaran con sus propias DLLs de conexión donde usan ya sea ADO o DAO, pueden darle uso a las mismas.
La sintaxis básica sería algo así:
<tags html>
<%
Public Function FConectarBD(pServidor As String, _
pUsuario As String, _
pClave As String) As Boolean
Dim VLRstFechaServidor As ADODB.Recordset
Dim VLRetorno As Boolean
On Error Resume Next
PDesconectarBD
VGADOConn.ConnectionString = "Provider=sqloledb;" & _
"Data Source=" & pServidor & ";" & _
"Initial Catalog=" & VGBaseDatos & ";" & _
"User Id=" & pUsuario & ";" & _
"Password=" & pClave
VGADOConn.Open
If Err.Number <> 0 Then
MsgBox Err.Description, vbInformation, App.ProductName
VLRetorno = False
Else
Set VLRstFechaServidor = New ADODB.Recordset
VLRstFechaServidor.Open "select 'Fecha' = getdate()", VGADOConn
FPrincipal.stbEstado.Panels(1).Text = "Usuario: " & pUsuario
FPrincipal.stbEstado.Panels(2).Text = "Servidor: " & pServidor
FPrincipal.stbEstado.Panels(3).Text = "Base de Datos: " & VGBaseDatos
FPrincipal.stbEstado.Panels(7).Text = Format(VLRstFechaServidor!Fecha, "dd/mm/yyyy")
VLRstFechaServidor.Close
Set VLRstFechaServidor = Nothing
MsgBox "Se ha conectado a " & pServidor & " con el usuario " & pUsuario, vbInformation, App.ProductName
VGServidor = pServidor
VGUsuario = pUsuario
VLRetorno = True
End If
FConectarBD = VLRetorno
End Function
if FConectarBD("miservidor", "miusuario", "miclave") then
response.write "Se conectó a SQL Server"
else
response.write "No se conectó a SQL Server"
end if
