PostgreSQL - problema repentino postgres

Estaba trabajando tranquilamente con el pgadmin de postgre y pero en un toque le di stop al servidor para apagarlo y le si start nuevamente , entre al pgadmin para logearme para crear unas tablas y sorpresa me lleva cuando me salio este mensaje de error .. ojo ya tenia tenia el servicio arriba

If you encounter this message, please check if the server you're trying to contact is actually running PostgreSQL on the given port. Test if you have network connectivity from your client to the server host using ping or equivalent tools. Is your network / VPN / SSH tunnel / firewall configured correctly?
For security reasons, PostgreSQL does not listen on all available IP addresses on the server machine initially. In order to access the server over the network, you need to enable listening on the address first.
For PostgreSQL servers starting with version 8.0, this is controlled using the "listen_addresses" parameter in the postgresql.conf file. Here, you can enter a list of IP addresses the server should listen on, or simply use '*' to listen on all available IP addresses. For earlier servers (Version 7.3 or 7.4), you'll need to set the "tcpip_socket" parameter to 'true'.
You can use the postgresql.conf editor that is built into pgAdmin III to edit the postgresql.conf configuration file. After changing this file, you need to restart the server process to make the setting effective.
If you double-checked your configuration but still get this error message, it's still unlikely that you encounter a fatal PostgreSQL misbehaviour. You probably have some low level network connectivity problems (e.g. firewall configuration). Please check this thoroughly before reporting a bug to the PostgreSQL community.

tengo dias buscando el error.. archivos de configuracion los reviso , nada.. nose que hacer
la version de postgres que utilizo es 8.1.3 , si alguien me puede dar una salvadita con ayuda ..se los agradesco

De ser asi, reinicia tu PC y chequea si se levanto el servicio en el Administrador de Tareas.

Generalmente esto pasa en Windows (la razón?, no se cual es), creo que si cambias alguna configuración en los archivos .conf tienes que hacer RELOAD CONFIGURATION en ves de parar y levantar el servicio.

man.. a mi me pasa lo mismo... de la nada se me puso asi el postgres...
mi SO es Gentoo linux.

Muchachos a mi me pasa lo mismo pero sospecho de algo, como les parece que antes de que sucediera instale el WampServer y estuve trabajando sobre él y un dia de tantos no me funciono el localhost entonces me fui por administrar Servicios de Internet Information Server en el panel de control y pare sitios web, logicamente me funciono el wamp pero se me daño el postgres y desde ahi no se como arreglarlo..
Agradeciendo si encuentran solucion.
