Visual Basic.NET - aplicacion vb no se conecta con MySQL

Hola buen dia
soy estudiante de sistemas asi que soy nuevo en esto
espero no haberme equivocado de foro
tengo un problema con una aplicacion creada con vb 2008
fue hecha por un compañero que ya no labora con nosotros
la cual se usa para gestionar un base de datos en MySQL
hace unos meses que no funciona
al intentar ingresar pone este error

verifique que el servidor MySQL este corriendo
utilice SQL Front para ingresar y funciona correctamente
tengo todos los usuarios y contraseñas incluyendo la de administrador
puedo ver todo y entrar desde cualquier pc de la red
otra la duda que tengo es si sera error de direccion IP
ya que se han cambiado constantemente
se puede saber a que direccion intenta conectar la aplicacion
tengo los archivos del proyecto

Deberías verificar que este bien el Connection String o sea la cadena de conexión a tu base de datos, usuario, contraseña, host, etc.
