Linux - problema sonido linux

Hola amigos. Tengo instalado Mandrake 8.2 y hasta ahora todo iba bien. Al iniciar una sesión con KDE me ha aparecido el siguiente mensaje.
Error while initializing the sound driver: can't start sound i/o The sound server will continue using the null output device. Ahora mi linux está mudo. No escucho música en Xmms, ni el sonido en la TV or con Xine. Os agradecería una ayuda.

a nivel de commando: setup, hay puedes encontrar la configuracion del sonido y hacer test.
